Atomium 8° - 33cl
Ref: BB28039
The robust, refreshing 6 grain beer, golden bronze in colour, with a lovely fruity flavour. Well-rounded and leaving a very satisfying taste.
The beer after its extraction from the 330ml stubby brown bottle sets in the glass a muzzy orange color with a Bunyanesque creamy light tan head, as it, slowly dissintagrates the lace forms a thick blanket to obfuscate the glass. Nose is over ripe fruit, lots of malt, fresh and crisp to the senses, start is ambrosial with a decent malt presence, the top light to moderate in feel. Finish is authoritarian in its acidity, the hops spicy and pleasing to the palate, quite dry and some somewhat tart aftertaste a nice drinking beer has a nice bit of tummy warming.

Augustijn 8°-1/3L
Ref: BB20122
Full body - staying head - amber colour with a spicy, malty palate that finishes very fruity with complex hoppy undertones. Extremely pleasant to drink during lengthy conversations. Brewed along a 700 year tradition! FOOD COMBINATIONS: goes very well with spicy food (fish or meat.) The hot spicy food (Cajun, Mexican, Oriental ...) is pleasantly cooled down by this wonderful beer. The hops also help the digestion. Delicious with cheeses. You can age the Augustijn for many years, just like wine.

It is somewhat less well-known, but according to beer enthusiasts without a doubt the best and finest beer made by brewery Van Steenberge. It is slightly stronger in alcohol content (9 %) and a little more pale and dry. Augustijn Grand Cru is also a beer that undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle .

Bios Brown 5.5°-1/4L
Ref: BB28159Z
Dark ruby red, as red wine. This beer was the first to be called the Burgundy of Flanders. A sour-sweet balance is discovered, set off by the underlying bitterness of the hops. Light in alcohol, the alcohol does not hide or overpower the exciting flavors and tastes in this unique beer. Although cold serving is recommended, taking your time to drink it will release more aromas and exciting wooden flavors towards the end of your glass.

Bios Kriek 5°-1/4L
Ref: BB28158Z
Everybody likes the right balance between the sourness of the Lambic and the sweetness of the fruit, in this case cherries. The aroma of the cherries is not too dominant, as it should be. The beer gives a very pleasant and refreshing feeling in the mouth, with a smooth cherry aftertaste. The Bios Kriek Lambic is an excellent thirst quencher, low in alcohol (5 % by volume) and great to drink at parties. True Lambic lovers prefer the Bios Kriek Lambic so much because you taste slightly more of the Lambic sourness, than in some more commercial Belgian Lambics, wherein the artificial sweetness is too strong.

It has a very big head indeed - pour it gently - and a very clean palate, beginning with a dry, lightly citric fruitiness, and finishing with a distinctive and delicate, perfumy, hop character. Very light and fluffy in texture, giving little hint of its strength.
Clear golden appearance with a larger than average head. Yeasty, fruity aroma. Smooth, soft fruit taste with suggestions of peach, pear and apple. Near perfect carbonation (had on tap), with a slightly tart, long lasting finish.

This beer has a huge head, so pour slowly (takes about 5 min.) The nose is typically brown ale and the flavor is chocolate (not a sour brown). The flavor is rather bland at refrigerator temperature, but becomes more full as the beer warms. Pair with Corsendonk Agnus (abbey pale ale) for a chocolate/ vanilla experience. Goes well with a cigar, if you are so inclined.

Hopduvel Brunette 9° - 1/3L

Medium murky brown is covered by a fine off-white hat. Interesting aroma where chocolate and coffeeish malt evolve into banana and pineapple fruitiness. Notes of grass and gentle roastiness complement the very sweet leaning balance. In the finish, soy sauce hints contraditcs somehow watery yet bubbly palate that nevertheless feels rather stale.
Leute Bokbier 7.5°-1/3L
Ref: BB28164Z
Leute Bok ale is a dark red heavy beer, top fermented and refermented in the bottle. The aroma and taste is unique and striking, not too sweet, but full and smooth on the tongue.
Leute Bokbier was first brewed by brewery Van Steenberge in 1927. In Flemish, 'Leute' means pleasure, and beer brings pleasure. The goat and the hops in the logo refer to the presence of goats on the then brewery-farm, with its adjacent hops fields. Unfor-tunately, along with the disappearance of the agricultural activities on the farm, the Leute Bokbier also disappeared. However, Leute Bokbier reappeared on the scene in 1997, exactly 70 years later. All the good of the past and the knowledge of the present are united in a unique beer.
Leute Bokbier is primarily noted because of the special tumbler with a wooden stand. After enjoying a few Leuteboks, it can sometimes become more challenging to aim the glass in the stand!

Piraat 10.5°-1/3L
Ref: BB20806
Voted overall Best Amber Beer (Gold medal) in the California Microbrew Beer Festival 1995.
In the 17th and 18th century, strong ale like the Piraat was highly prized by the seafaring captains for its keeping qualities and its high and healthy food value. The daily distribution of a pint of this ale kept the pirates in good health and gave them the spirit to survive the hard life on the sea. One had no water on a ship, but wine or strong beer that could be kept for months on the sea. Piraat is a wickedly rich and rounded brew that packs a mighty punch. The powerful glow builds up from inside. Deep golden with a subtle haze. Lots of hops and malt. Mild sweetness. Reminiscent of bread dough, spices and tropical fruits.

Brilliant golden orange, veryclear with a fine white head. Nose of malt, toast, some faint fruit. Nice mouthfeel medium weight with a lingering finish of sweet malt. Flavours of nuts, raisens, cherry, some spice (coriander?), and a herbal lightly burnt toast like finish with anise notes lingering. Alcohol seems well integrated only warming slightly on the finish. Nice beer, though the finish seems confused and leaves me wanting for the fruit of the aroma to come through.
