Ciney 9°-1/4L
Ref: BB20390
red-brown beer with a huge beige lazing head. The aroma is sweet caramel with notes of coriander. The flavor is of alcohol, caramel, and prunes with lemon-soda in the background and a dry finish. The mouthfeel is very soft.
Nose is loaded with the aroma of over ripe fruit, plums comes to mind, sweet malt and a molasses like tone with some peat and smoke a complex nose to say the least, the start is sweet and thick with malt the top is middling in its feel. Finish is stinging in its acidity, the hops pertinent to the style and the 9 percent ABV, leaves a nice warming sensation in the tummy, quite dry aftertaste that sticks to the palate, a most enjoyable beer.

Ciney Bruin 7°-1/4L
Ref: BB20384
Poured a dark opaque brown colored beer with a nice head with better then average retention. Aroma is a mix of roasted malt and some slight notes of sweetness. Taste is very refreshing with again notes of roasted malt and candi sugar hitting my palate. I would have expected a bit more complexity from this beer to go from good to great. Overall, this is not a bad dubbel but maybe lacking a bit of character.

Grimbergen Blond 7°-1/3L
Ref: BB20583
Brewed under licence by Alken-Maes for the Grimbergen abbey. This is a strong blond beer, with a yeasty softness to the palate reminiscent of trappist beers and a tenacious, frothy head. It has a slightly hoppy aroma, which is less pronounced in the taste.
Glowing golden dark yellow with a small film of white lacing floating on the top. Sweet lemon wheat nose with some fuesal corn notes hidden behind an oversweet nutty banana aroma. The feel on the mouth is a semi-thick rush of tingling yeast, bananas and bread crust, and a sweet lemon, banana and vanilla yogurt flavor. Finish is spicy and sticky.

Grimbergen bruin 6.5°-1/3L
Ref: BB20582
Brewed by Alken-Maes for the Grimbergen abbey, this is a double dark beer, whose appearance and taste are a close approximation of an English brown ale. Rich ruby-brown colour, with an aroma comprising equal proportions of hops and something like fermenting marrow. It is sweet, lively on the tongue and easier to drink than its strength would suggest (which is considerably in excess of your average brown ale). The aftertaste is a lingering, mild malty flavour.
Clear dark ruby, almost a burgundy appearance, with a large-bubbled sandy head which subsides into a frothy layer with a few bubbles peaking through. Nose has some gingerbread spiced cherries, nice roasted strawberries and cherries in the flavor as well, with a big emphasis on apple cider. Peppy finish, finishes like apple juice.

Grimbergen Goud-Dorée 8° - 1/3L
Ref: BB30057
This is a strong blonde beer, full of character with tertiary fermentation in the bottle yet still very accessible. Taste: The traditional Grimbergen recipe is enriched here trough the use of aromatic hops, which gives the beer its refined bitterness and hoppy character. The result is a refreshingly strong blonde beer.

Grimbergen Optimo 10°-1/3L
Ref: BB20606
This is a strong abbey-style beer from the Grimbergen monastery, brewed as an Easter ale but available all year. It has a rich, heavy, complex nose with malt, black treacle, petroleum, and possibly pepper. Flavour is quite sweet, chewy, cloying and puddingy, but the sweetness is counteracted by a malty, treacley bitterness. There is a fruity, port-like quality to the palate too, along with a cheesiness towards the finish, all of which suggests that this would make a good after-dinner beer.
Deep amber/chestnut colour, head that forms with much noise and effort but evaporates almost instantly. Moderate condition. Caramel, toffee, licorice and burnt brown sugar in the nose, with a suggestion of raspberry as it warms (Like a Liefmans Frambozen). Quite thin in the mouth, you seem to drink it by osmosis rather than swallowing. Hints of malt whisky, raisins and caramel but all quite delicate and flleeting. More whisky malt in the finish with alcohol coming to the fore and a hint of bitterness towards the end.

Grimbergen Triple 9°-1/3L
Ref: BB20594
Abbey beer. This beer undergoes a secondary fermentation in the bottle and is made from malt, hops, white candy sugar and water
A smooth balanced triple that went excellently with heavy stew. Not strongly yeasty, it was not too hoppy, nor too spicey, which was appreciated by the tongue. Warming and clean finish.

Judas 8.5°-1/3L
Ref: BB20690
Special blond beer. A beer made from malt, hops, sugar and water; it undergoes a secondary fermentation in the bottle.
Pale golden body that had a slightly hazy clarity. Rocky white head that started off large and seemed to hang around for a while leaving good lacing on the way down. Citrus aroma mixed with orange, lime and cheese. Initial flavour started out light and stayed that way, lemon, soft spice and dried fruit was in there but couldnt really notice the alcohol, easy drinking but not full bodied or anything.

Zulte 4.7°-1/4L
Ref: BB21164
A brown beer par excellence, this traditional Flemish brown beer was prepared in a brewery in a large village of the same name near Waregem. Its aroma is sour, and this is confirmed by the initial taste, in which there is also a sweet touch of softness.
It also leaves a slightly spicy, but not aggressive, taste on the end of the tongue..
