Les 3 Fourquets Lupulus 8.5° - 3/4L

Les 3 Fourquets Lupulus 8.5° - 3/4L
Ref: BB40262Z

Lupulus is a blonde ale with an alcohol proof of 8,5 %, refermented in champagne bottles and in casks. The choice not to filter the beer, as well as not to pasteurize it ensures its taste and aromatic quality. The use of hops in considerable quantities, in the cauldron as well as in full fermentation, gives this liquid gold a freshness and an incomparable bouquet. Store this beer, as it ought to be, next to your beloved Grand-Cru and serve at a temperature between 8 and 12°C (46,4 and 53,6°F). You'll be delighted !

Bush Peche-Mel 8.5° -1/3L

Bush Peche-Mel 8.5° -1/3L
Ref: BB40250D

When the taste of peach meets the strongest beer in Belgium

Created many years ago by students as a cocktail, the Pêche Mel’Bush was originally a mix of equal parts BUSH Amber and peach gueuze.

Brewed since 2009 by the Brasserie Dubuisson with the same rigour as the other Bush beers, made to an original recipe based on natural peach extracts, the Pêche Mel’Bush has what it takes to satisfy everyone who likes fruit-flavoured beers with character. The natural flavourings and extracts of the fruit complement the original bitterness of the Bush Amber to create a rounded and perfectly balanced beer.

Pêche Mel’Bush is a highly fermented, filtered beer with an alcohol volume of 8.5%, which will make it without a doubt the strongest fruit-flavoured beer.

Straffe Hendrik is a Bitter Tripel Ale of 9% abv. The beer was originally from Bruges and brewed in Bruges by brewery De Halve Maan.

In 1981, Henri Maes and his daughter Véronique followed the demand of the mayor and created a strong blond beer for the inaugration of the statue of Sint-Arnoldus, the saint of all beer-brewers. However, the beer became so popular, that the demand fot the beer continued. It was given the name of Straffe Hendrik (Strong Hendrick), since it was a rich and strong beer.

Today, Straffe Hendrik is the last authentic Tripel Ale of Bruges.

Bockor Omer Traditional Blond 8° - 1/3L

Bockor Omer Traditional Blond 8° - 1/3L
Ref: BB40230Z

OMER. traditional blond is made of excellent summer malted barley from the Loire region (France) and pure water. During the brewing process sugars are liberated that will serve later to nourish the yeast. During the cooking process 3 varieties of hops from Germany, Slovenia and the Czech Republic are added to give the beer the specific aroma and bitterness.

After this cooking the top-fermenting yeast is added. The top fermentation process lasts 4-5 days at about 20°C. This yeast gives the beer its fruity and full-flavoured character.
After this main fermentation the beer is lagered for 3 weeks at 0°C.
Then the beer is filtered. Fresh yeast and sugar are again added to engine the refermentation after the beer is being bottled. This refermentation goes on for 14 days at a high temperature of 25°C. Here the sugars are transformed into alcohol and carbon dioxide. They give the beer the nice head while pooring. Finally the beer needs to rest for 3 weeks.

Pours light, rusty brown with a light pink head. Brett aromas predominate: horsey, leather, humus, with hints of cherry. Flavor complexity is immediately obvious with layers of funk, sorghum, cherries, and hints of wood. Medium body but very round on the tongue. A great beer but lambic fans should note: do not expect anything like Lindeman’s. This is closer to an Oud Bruin with the addition of cherries. Really an impressive brew.

Lefebvre Hopus 8,5° - 1/3L

Lefebvre Hopus 8,5° - 1/3L
Ref: BB30119Z

Flip top bottle poured a nice fluffy white head with a golden color. There is a pear taste present followed by a bitter dry aftertaste. Not as hoppy as you would expect for a beer with this name, but very good regardless. Most Belgium beers that claim to be hoppy fall short for USA standards but there is definately a nice hop presence. The overwhelming carbonation added a bit of dryness as well.
