The butter crisps used to be a typical new-years-gift in flanders. In fact every family used to bake its own butter waffles. This tradition dates from the 17th century. Nowadays the butter crisps are being enjoyed the whole year round and have become typical Belgian speciality. The actual shape of this biscuit has been designed by Jules Destrooper.

The product received following awards:
Roeselare 1923: Medal of honour
Brussels 1929: Golden Award
Brussels 1931: Grand Prix and Golden Medal
Brussels 1933: Gold Medal

Ingredients
The butter crisps are made of only natural ingredients which are being carefully selected such as wheatflour, sugar, butter, fresh eggs and salt.

Thins
The original biscuit with which Jules Destrooper started in 1886. He used to bake this product and to give it as a present to his customers whom he was selling colonial goods. They appreciated the product so much that Jules Destrooper had to start producing these delicate biscuits.

Florentines
The Rolls Royce of biscuits! The Florentine is in origin a Swiss product developed by nineteenth century local bakers. The Destrooper family, following the original recipe found in a Swiss library, are proud to offer you this Swiss delicacy, of course covered with the famous Belgian chocolate.

Florentines used to be made by several chef patissiers but then in a larger size. Jules Destrooper adapted this concept and produces the florentines nowadays in small size in three varieties: with almonds, with hazelnuts and with mint. The top quality chocolate in which the product is enrobed makes the perfect marriage with the florentines biscuit.

The product received following awards:
The product received the Golden Award at the Tavola exhibition in Kortrijk in 1990.

These biscuits are made of only natural ingredients which are being carefully selected such as chocolate, almond or hazelnuts, sugar, butter, honey, glucose syrup, wheatflour, crystallized cherries and oranges (and peppermint oil for the mintflorentines)

Butter Crumble
This biscuits also called "PARIS WAFERS" joined the range in the late seventies. Even though this product is made following an authentic recipe from Jules Destrooper. The biggest differences with the butter crisps are that the butter crumble has a higher butter content and has a softer texture then the butter crisps.
